MONEYMIO EXPANDS ACCESS TO PERSONAL FINANCE TO U.S. LATINOS
The Consumer Platform has partnered with Univision, Money Strands, Finhabits and Self Lender to Provide Financial Literacy to Help Spanish and English Speaking Latinos to Prosper
New York, NY (April 24, 2017)— After launching just six months ago MoneyMio is already expanding its reach to make personal finance education accessible to all Latinos in the United States.
MoneyMio.com launched in October 2016 as the first consumer platform to provide bilingual and culturally relevant educational content to US Latinos. The online platform offers a variety of personal finance resources, such as guides to money management, free comparison tools to find credit cards and personal loans with the best interest rates and credit offers.
Since its launch, MoneyMio has partnered with Univision Tarjeta, a division of the largest Spanish language media company, and financial platforms like Finhabits, MoneyStrands, Self Lender to provide financial education to Latinos through blogs, webinars, podcasts and other multimedia tools. The mission is to create trustworthy financial literacy content in a diverse array of platforms to empower the heavily underserved and still growing Latino population in the US.
There are 55 million Latinos in the United States with a $1.3 trillion in purchasing power.
“Our mission is to empower the community and the more we grow the more partnerships we create, the more Latinos we educate,” said Jose Galindo founder and CEO. “In addition to partnerships that we continue to develop, we will be starting personal finance meetups in the main US Latino cities and series of videos on YouTube about personal finance that we are planning to launch by May,” he continued.
The partnership with Finhabits for example, consists of making Finhabits’ products available to the Latino community through Moneymio and expanding Moneymio tools through Finhabits’ platform.
“Technology is the great equalizer that’ll help close the wealth gap in our country. We’re excited to partner with a company that shares our commitment with the Latino community,” said Carlos Garcia, founder/CEO of Finhabits.
On April 26, Moneymio will start a series of webinars in partnership with Univision titled “Organizando tus finanzas/Organizing your finances” with the goal of providing resources to registered participants about how to prepare a budget, how to build a credit and how to use technology to manage your money. To sign up for the webinars users can visit moneymio.com
MoneyMio was founded in 2015 by investment banker and investor, José Galindo and launched officially in October of 2016. Galindo arrived in the United States from Colombia as a student attending University of California, Los Angeles, where he had to learn how to take control of his own finances. He realized millions of other Latinos coming to the U.S face language barriers and lower education levels that can impact their financial decision making capabilities.
